Well our boy has absolutely smashed his GCSE's and received above the passing grades needed for college with 5's and 6's. Our child came to us in August 22, having missed large amount of education. He was unable to attend mainstream education and it was just accepted he would not gain any qualifications due to this and being a looked after child who has faced several moves. We found a provision to suit our child's needs and sourced a tutor to provide extra support within the home as we believed our child could achieve just the same as other children. Today after many trials and tribulations and a lot of support and encouragement, we recieved the news we had all been waiting for. We could not be prouder of what he has achieved but never for a moment did we doubt him!
We are very happy to share that our Polly has not only completed her Level 5 Qualification but has also done so with a DINSTINCTION! Polly has worked so hard to achieve this and we are so proud of her!
We are so extremely excited and happy to announce that Stacy Geddes and her Meadows team have absolutely smashed their 2 day Ofsted inspection and received a very well deserved 'Outstanding' We could not be prouder of you all as a company and we cannot wait to share quotes from the official report!
We are very happy to congratulate our newest Registered Manager Holly Kirby who successful passed the fit person registration and received their certificate last week! Holly has been working with us as a Leader for nearly 2 years and in this time has been instrumental in the support in gaining 2 Outstanding Ofsted ratings. Holly has an amazing connection with our wonderful child and there was never going to be anyone better for the role! Welcome to the Management Team Holly!
Safe Haven had the pleasure of attending the national Stronger Together conference in Liverpool this month. We also spent time with the wonderful Steven Russell. His power of 1 workshop always blows us away!
Safe Haven attended the national Children's Homes Qualitiy - Make Care Incredible - with love as part of the deal national gathering in May. This was an amazing event full of key note speakers and helpful information. Our very own Ben Thomas produced and delivered a workshop about how males can safely show love in Residential Children's Homes and completely smashed it!
This month, see's the opening of Safe Haven's first ever 2 bed children's home. Ben Thomas one of our award winning, Outstanding Managers has taken on the role of Registered Manager to support the opening of this new home. We cannot wait for our first child to move in!
Here at Safe Haven, our children and teams have had the pleasure of Steven Russell visiting them to spend time with them. Steven created dream boards and sand keep sakes with the children and they will treasure these. I know that the children felt connected with Steven's experience and his history of being looked after as a child himself.
We had the most amazing night for our 2023 Safe Haven awards night with all of our teams and children. So proud and thankful for all the adults who received awards from our children. The evening was brilliant and made even better by the special touches from the children, from personally written cards, a Safe Haven rap song and group dance off.
Well done to our winners:
Merry Xmas from our Safe Haven family!

Stacy Geddes and her team at The Meadows have achieved a Good in their very first inspection. The home has been open for only 4 months, a new Registered Manager, a new team and 2 of the countries most complex children later. No recommendations or requirements. We could not be prouder!
Polly Hawnt and her team have had some of the most progression we have seen for some of the most highly complex children they have supported. The Nurture and care they showed throughout came across as clear as day when the inspection was taking place!
